This lab quantifies the linguistic signature of somatic illness (fragmentation, compulsion, metaphor) before the first prescription. The PPL-DUSI framework, Premature Psychiatric Labelling and Duration of Untreated Somatic Illness, and its clinical engines operationalise this thesis as a testable patient-safety protocol, currently pending peer review.

Where This Research Stands
Not yet peer-reviewed. "In revision" and "working paper" mean exactly that: treat the claims above as hypotheses pending publication, not established findings.
Single-corpus so far. The linguistic-biomarker methodology (fragmentation, compulsion, metaphor) has been validated against one corpus, Lure of Shadows. Generalizability to other populations and writers is untested.
No sensitivity or specificity data yet. The Psychopoetics Engine's thresholds are drawn from published forensic-linguistics research, but the engine itself has no published ROC curve of its own. Treat its output as a screening aid, not a diagnostic instrument.

Diagnostic error begins in language. Before any lab or imaging, the patient utters the first word. That utterance, its syntax, repetition, and figuration, may carry the signature of somatic illness. The lab investigates whether that signature can be quantified.
